Our History
Founded by Dr. Paul Stephenson, the Plain City Animal Hospital began serving the Plain City, Ohio, area in 1986. Six years later, Dr. Daniel Lynn was hired as an associate veterinarian responsible for running the practice. In 1996, Dr. Lynn purchased the animal hospital. Originally located at 245 W. Main Street, the practice was moved down the street to its current home, the historic McCloud-Robinson building, five years later. In 2017, when the practice outgrew its facility, the Plain City Animal Hospital opened a 1,700-square-foot addition to provide its rapidly expanding clientele with a more comfortable and higher quality veterinary experience. The animal hospital also welcomed an additional veterinarian to the practice that year — Dr. Jamie Miller. In 2020, a second expansion was completed, increasing the number of exam rooms to nine and providing a second-floor surgical suite. In 2021, Dr. Nicole Fuehne was hired as the hospital’s third veterinarian. The doctors, together with a hard-working and dedicated staff of veterinary technicians and assistants, serve thousands of clients from Plain City and the surrounding Central Ohio area each year.

MEET OUR DOCTORS
MEET HUEBIE,
OUR CLINIC CAT
Originally known simply as “orange kitten,” Huebie arrived at the Plain City Animal Hospital in 2012 as a seriously ill patient. When staff members fell in love with the little ball of fur, his gracious owner gave the kitten to the Plain City Animal Hospital as its new clinic cat. After nearly two weeks of medical care, the kitten, named “Huebie” in honor of his previous owner, was restored to good health. Since then, the feline has provided hours of entertainment for staff members and clients, who have taken turns petting, pampering and spoiling him. According to Kim Higgins, one of the hospital’s veterinary technicians, Huebie is always “up to something” in the clinic. “He loves to play fetch and ‘sits’ for treats. He enjoys his role as supervisor so very much,” Kim explained. “He makes sure all of his people get ample time to love him each day — for their sake, of course! He can be demanding and sometimes annoying, but he is loved dearly by all who meet him.” When he isn’t vying for someone’s attention, Huebie can be seen lounging in the clinic windows or sleeping on the appointment sheet. “Stop in and visit him whenever you get the chance,” Kim added. “He will melt your heart, too!”
